KUCHING, Oct 29: The Sarawak Government has launched the EXPRT Module, an online system designed to simplify applications for the Sarawak Employment Pass for expatriates.
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the EXPRT Module is the second major development under Sarawak’s ALIANCE digital ecosystem, following the successful launch of SANSOLS platform earlier this year.
Announcing the new initiative during Industry Update Programme organised by the Immigration and Labour Management Unit (ILMU) on Tuesday, Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring) Datuk Gerawat Gala said the new module aligns with Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
He added that this underscores Sarawak’s commitment to digital governance, efficiency, and sustainable economic growth.
Meanwhile, according to the report, the SANSOLS platform, which manages Non-Resident Employees (NRE), has already reduced processing times by 70 per cent, cut approval periods from 197 to 61 days, and enhanced transparency through integration with MyIMMs.
Applications for the new EXPRT Module will be available online starting November 1, 2025, with renewal features expected to follow. – DayakDaily
