KUCHING, Sept 30: Sarawak and Johor are looking to strengthen the way governments deliver public services by sharing digital transformation approaches, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
The discussion focused on potential cooperation between the two states and was held at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) here today, as reposted by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).
Sarawak Deputy Secretary (Operations) Datu Hii Chang Kee said the session provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange experiences and explore collaboration in government digitalisation, digital ecosystem development and AI.
“I am pleased to be here with all of you. On behalf of the Sarawak government, we would like to thank the Johor delegation for taking the time to visit Sarawak. We see this meeting as an opportunity to work together,” he said in his welcoming remarks.
Hii said Sarawak’s digital transformation efforts took a whole-of-government approach, including the digitalisation of public service delivery.
Meanwhile, Johor Education and Information Committee chairman Dr Muhammad Naqib Md Ghazali said the delegation sought insights into Sarawak’s digital transformation approach.
He said the exchange could help Johor identify approaches that could be adapted to meet the State’s needs and digital transformation objectives.
The session was also attended by Premier of Sarawak Department Sarawak Civil Service Digitalisation Unit (SCSDU) Director Datu Grace Huong Siew Hung; Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) General Manager Dato Dr Anderson Tiong Ing Heng; Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) Chief Executive Officer Busiai Seman; SAIC Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer Ting Chiong Kit; Sarawak government officers; Johor Education and Information Committee Office officers; and the Johor Information and Communications Technology (ICT) team. — DayakDaily
