Sarawak hydrogen buses up to the mark, says Chinese manufacturer

KUCHING, Oct 30: The hydrogen buses, which will be used in Sarawak capital, have met the predetermined standards set by Foshan Feichi automobile manufacturer for hydrogen vehicles.

A delegation from Sarawak led by Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin was in Foshan, Guangzhou in China from Oct 28 -30 for official working visit on transport matters.

During the visit to the hydrogen bus manufacturer, they were briefed on the buses’ road performance in Kuching based on the data collected by Feichi in China.


“We visited their operation and monitoring control centre to understand the operation, monitoring and control system for hydrogen bus as public transport in Foshan, Guangzhou.

“Reliability and performance test has been done. The hydrogen buses for Kuching performed well and met the predetermined standards,” Lee said in a statement.

General manager of Foshan Feichi automobile manufacturer for hydrogen vehicles, maintenance centre and refuelling station, Jiang Yong, briefed the group on system and technology of hydrogen bus, safety features of the maintenance centre, refuelling process and hydrogen storage system.

The delegation also visited Hydrogen Energy Tram in Gaoming, Foshan, where they were introduced to the latest technology related to hydrogen energy vehicles including high speed train.

They were given opportunity to ride on the Hydrogen Energy Tram that is going to be launched for public use in January 2020. — DayakDaily
