KUCHING, Oct 31: Members of the public are still allowed to make cash payments at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
Sarawak Health director Dr Ooi Choo Huck in a statement today said this is applicable for individuals who do not use cashless methods of payment or do not have a bank account.
He was responding an issue which became viral on social media recently which claimed the management at Sarawak General Hospital only accepted non-cash payment methods at its facilities through credit or debit cards.
Dr Ooi added that in line with the government’s efforts towards creating a digital society, starting Oct 1, members of the public are encouraged to make cashless payments (via debit card or ATM, credit card or e-wallet) at all Ministry of Health (MOH) facilities in the State. — DayakDaily
