KUCHING, Dec 31: Sarawak Health Department (JKN) hopes that the case of a doctor under probe following a molesting allegation will not affect the public’s acceptance of treatment services.

Its director Dr Ooi Choo Huck said the department takes a serious view of the allegations that touch upon the professional code of ethics of a medical practitioner and also as a civil servant.

“It is informed that the case is still under investigation by the police. Therefore, the public is advised not to make any speculation that could affect the investigation.

“JKN Sarawak always takes seriously the safety of patients receiving treatment at all its facilities in Sarawak. JKN Sarawak also hopes that this incident does not affect the acceptance of treatment services among the public,” he said in a statement today. — DayakDaily
