KUCHING, April 3: The journey for Haj pilgrims would be significantly smoother with the introduction of direct flights from Kuching to Jeddah.

Sarawak Umrah and Haj Agencies Association (SUHA) chairman Ruzaiman Ghazalee emphasided that this initiative reflects not only their organisation’s goals but also the collective wishes of potential Haj pilgrims in the region.

“We anticipate that this issue will be promptly addressed in the near future to facilitate the Muslim community in Sarawak,” he said in a news report by TVS.

He made these remarks after paying a courtesy visit to Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.

Additionally, on the topic of Haj quotas, Ruzaiman expressed hopes for an increase in Sarawak’s allocation.

This year, Malaysia’s quota for the Haj season stands at 31,600 pilgrims. — DayakDaily
