Sarawak govt to consider giving PR status to West M’sian businessmen who wish to migrate to the State

KUCHING, April 28: The Sarawak government will consider giving permanent resident status to business people from West Malaysia who wish to migrate to Sarawak.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg Abang Johari said it would help create jobs and stimulate the economy.


“Yes, I welcome the suggestion and we will consider it,” he told reporters when met after launching the national-level World Water Day celebration at Kuching Waterfront today.

Abang Johari added that priority will be given to those who can brings new ideas.

Yesterday (April 27), Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof proposed Sarawak require a minimum deposit of RM2 million or purchase of property of not less than RM1.5 million for business people and investors wishing to migrate to the State. — DayakDaily
