Sarawak govt allocates RM1 mln to upgrade Juma’ani Tuanku Haji Bujang Welfare Complex

KUCHING, Nov 11: The Juma’ani Tuanku Haji Bujang Welfare Complex in Sibu will be upgraded to ensure the comfort of the orphans living there.

According to a report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing Dr Annuar Rapaee said some of the infrastructure and facilities in the complex need to be upgraded using State government funds.

“RM1 million will be allocated to the Datuk Amar Hajah Juma’aini Peryatim Complex in order to improve the infrastructure and facilities.

“Datuk Amar Juma’aini also handed over a total of RM60,000 in a personal contribution as ‘Wakaf’ to Al Kadim Mosque,” he told reporters during a press conference after the handing over ceremony of the contribution to Datuk Amar Hajah Juma’aini Peryatim Complex, yesterday.

During the handover ceremony, Dr Annuar also handed over a hearse to Sibu Islamic Welfare Trust Board from Petra Jaya Welfare Association.

Meanwhile, Sibu Islamic Cemetery Management Bureau Mohamad Safree Mohamad Kassim express his gratitude to the Petra Jaya Welfare Association for the contribution.

“The hearse is much needed as we have a new Islamic cemetery in Sibu. So far, we have five hearses including this, which is good news for us,” he said.

Also present were Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s wife Datin Amar Juma’aini Tun Tuanku Bujang, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali and Peryatim Sibu Exco chairman Dato Mohamad Yusnar Matalie. — DayakDaily
