KUCHING, June 19: Sarawak Foundation (Yayasan Sarawak) handed another RM3.46 million payment incentive to National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) to help Sarawakian students ease the burden of their study loans.

The foundation in a statement today said so far, the State government through Yayasan Sarawak has channeled the accumulated amount of RM36.13 million in assistance to help students repay their PTPTN loans.

“This initiative will continue to benefit a total of 12,700 Sarawakians students who have been identified by PTPTN as successful graduates and have repaid 30 per cent and above of their PTPTN loan for the year 2021,” it said.

The RM3.46 million cheque was handed over by Yayasan Sarawak director Mersal Abang Rosli to PTPTN chief executive Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid during the ‘Majlis Ramah Tamah Gawai Raya Yayasan Sarawak Kuala Lumpur’ event held at Yayasan Sarawak’s office in Kuala Lumpur, today.
