KUCHING, Jan 31: Sarawak’s Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has announced that pets are not permitted in temporary evacuation centers (PPS).
In response to a query regarding the standard operating procedures (SOP) for pets in these centers, Uggah explained that pet owners must ensure their animals are kept in a safe location outside of the evacuation facilities.
“We are unable to allow pets in PPS to maintain the safety and well-being of all evacuees.
“Pet owners should make arrangements for their animals to be cared for in a safe environment,” he said during a press conference at Serian Community Hall here today.
The move aims to prioritise the health and safety of both evacuees and their pets during the ongoing crisis. — DayakDaily
