KUCHING, Nov 9: Sarawak Trade, Investment, and Tourism Office Singapore (Statos) will hold the Sarawak Fair 2022 from Nov 21 to 27 at Suntec City East Atrium, Singapore, to boost the profile of Sarawak and promote some of the State’s top products and services to the Singapore market.
According to Statos’ press release, the business-to-consumer fair has attracted 31 exhibitors representing tourism, trade, and investment suppliers and agencies.
It will highlight six themes: Travel and Tourism; Nature, Adventure, and Heritage; People, Culture, and Community; Arts, Events, and Festivals; Food, Leisure, and Entertainment; and Trade, Business, Investment including S-MM2H.
“This fair is not only about showcasing Sarawak’s tourism products, but also includes the promotion of important longer-term trade and investment opportunities,” Deputy Premier of Sarawak Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said today at the Sarawak Fair 2022 press conference held earlier at a local hotel.
Awang Tengah went on to say that in the upcoming Sarawak Fair, there will be 17 booths focusing on tourism and 14 booths focusing on trade and investment products.
“Sarawak is in a great position to supply what Singapore needs in terms of trade and investment opportunities, especially in the areas of agriculture, aquaculture, reducing carbon footprints, and renewable energy.
“Sarawak Fair this year is just the precursor of many larger-scale events that we plan to hold in Singapore in the future,” he added.
Also present at the press conference were Sarawak Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and Statos chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi. — DayakDaily
