KUCHING, July 12: Sarawak will transit into Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) starting Wednesday (July 14).

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas confirmed the transition with DayakDaily today.

This decision was made jointly by SDMC and the National Security Council (NSC) following a risk assessment exercise, taking into account the threshold values of the three main NRP indicators achieved by Sarawak.

SDMC said the current standard operating procedures (SOPs) remain effective until 11.59pm, Tuesday (July 13).

For any relaxation of the SOPs, the public is advised to refer to the seven-page document titled ‘Sarawak’s Roadmap to Recovery’ published on SDMC’s Facebook page yesterday (July 11).

One of the most anticipated changes in the SOPs during Phase 2 would be the green light for restaurants and eateries to allow dine-ins.

From July 14 onwards, the night curfew from 12.01am to 5am throughout the State will also be lifted.

Entertainment activities and social gatherings, however, remain prohibited while other detailed SOPs during Phase 2 will be disclosed in due time. — DayakDaily
