KUCHING, April 12: Sarawak Energy reminds its customers to follow Covid-19 SOPs to ensure everyone’s safety, after its customer service counters at Bekenu and Permyjaya in Miri resumed operations recently.
Sarawak Energy Berhad (Sarawak Energy)’s General Manager of Retail Ng Shou Fui, in a press statement today said, any customer who chooses to visit the centres to conduct physical transactions must comply strictly with Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) without compromise.
“This includes temperature scanning prior to entry, wearing facemasks at all times, maintaining the minimum appropriate physical distance and sanitising their hands using the sanitisers provided or their personal sanitisers,” she said.
On April 6, Sarawak Energy closed its customer service counters in Bekenu and Permyjaya for sanitisation and fumigation, and both counters resumed operations on 9 April and 12 April respectively.
Meanwhile, Ng gave assurance that all of Sarawak Energy’s customer service counters are sanitised on a regular basis.
She said if any positive cases have been detected at work premises, the affected areas are closed for deep sanitisation and fumigation and close contacts must go for testing and isolation.
“The health and safety of our customers, staff and their families are top priority. Sarawak Energy will continue to comply with all directives issued by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) as well as our own stringent in-house SOPs to help reduce the risk of transmission,” said Ng.
Apart from that, she continued, in order to limit face-to-face interaction to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission, Sarawak Energy also introduced the e-Bill services earlier this year.
“By encouraging online transaction, we hope more and more of our customers can perform their transactions from the comfort and safety of their homes or offices,” she added. — DayakDaily
