This year, Sarawak Energy took home two prestigious accolades in the large company category, namely for ‘Climate Action (Non-Financial Institution)’ and ‘Finance and Investment’.

According to a press release, Sarawak Energy said these awards highlight the company’s strides in tackling climate change, including an impressive 73 per cent reduction in carbon emissions intensity between 2010 and 2022.

Sarawak Energy’s pledge to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 aligns seamlessly with its “Business Ambition for 1.5°Celsius” commitment made in 2020.

In addition, Sarawak Energy was recognised with the Partnership for the Goals, Pioneer Sustainable Development Action, Sustainability Awareness and Employee Engagement, SBTi Validators Recognition, and ESG START Engagement accolades.
