Sarawak Edu Ministry, Research Devt Council and Borneo Devt Corp formalise agreement on Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre

KUCHING, June 14: Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD), Sarawak Research and Development Council (SRDC) and Borneo Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (BDC) today inked an agreement for the construction of Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre (SIDC).

Following the agreement, BDC was appointed as the PMCo (Project Management Company) for the centre which will be located in Samarahan.

The signing of the Project Management Agreement (PMA) ceremony was held at the ministry’s office, LCDA Tower Kuching.

The signatories were MEITD Minister Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, BDC chairman Datuk Peter Nansian Ngusie, and SRDC general manager Dr Peter Morin Nissom.

Among those witnessing the ceremony were MEITD permanent secretary Datu Kameri Affandi, SRDC deputy general manager Dr Ivan Yap Kok Seng and BDC general manager Nor-E-Fadzwie Salleh.

Although the formalisation of the agreement took place today, clearing of the site located next to the Sarawak Heart Centre in Samarahan commenced a year ago.

The PMA outlines the commitment of the three parties to work together to expedite construction of SIDC in anticipation of its expected operation launch by end of 2024. — DayakDaily
