Sarawak delegation pays courtesy call to federal tourism ministry

KUCHING, March 17: A delegation from the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) paid a courtesy call to Malaysian Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Dato Sri Tiong King Sing yesterday.

According to the federal minister in a statement yesterday, the delegation was led by MTCP Minister Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

The delegation was also joined by MTCP deputy ministers Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew and Datuk Snowdan Lawan, as well as Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) chairman Dennis Ngau.


During the meeting, Abdul Karim and his delegation brought up several issues and suggestions to MOTAC, including establishing MOTAC’s branch office in Sarawak, tourist guides issues, tourism product development, and tourist transportation.

Also present during the meeting were MOTAC deputy minister Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, deputy secretary-general (Tourism) Datuk Mohd Zamri Mat Zain and senior undersecretary (Management) Dato Shaharuddin Abu Sohot. — DayakDaily
