KUCHING, Nov 25: Sarawak has also declared next Monday (Nov 28) as a public holiday.

In a statement today, the Office of the Premier of Sarawak said that this is in line with the announcement by the newly appointed Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, last night.

Anwar, in his first press conference last night (Nov 24) after swearing in as the 10th Prime Minister, has announced Nov 28 as a public holiday nationwide.

He said this was a promise he made to Malaysians that he wanted to keep now that the political intrigue that befell Malaysia following the 15th General Election (GE15) had been resolved. — DayakDaily
