Sarawak courts Singaporean investors for green energy, digital economy ventures

KUCHING, March 14: The Sarawak government has initiated discussions with various Singaporean investors to explore potential investment opportunities, particularly in the green and renewable energy sectors, as well as the digital economy within Sarawak.

Leading a delegation from Sarawak to Singapore, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan expressed his appreciation for the interest shown by Singaporean investors, aligning with the Post-Covid Development Strategy aimed at propelling Sarawak towards becoming a high-income and advanced region by 2030.

During the meetings held today (March 14) in Singapore, Awang Tengah engaged with representatives from prominent entities such as UOB Group, Eastspring Investments, Two Family Office, Chemsain, and Kuok Group.

Also in attendance were Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) general manager Zainal Abidin Abdullah, its advisor Datu Hashim Bojet, Invest Sarawak CEO Timothy Ong and Pusaka Capital Sdn Bhd CEO Mohamad Nor Topek Julaihi. — DayakDaily
