KUCHING, March 14: The Meditel Ramadan Bazaar 2024 has opened its doors at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), offering a diverse array of food and beverages, fruits, and grilled seafood to visitors.

Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) deputy director Wan Samsulri Wan Hasbi said the bazaar, organised in collaboration with the Sarawak Health Department Islamic Welfare Association (Perkit) and Serapi Medital, marks its third consecutive year since its inception in 2022.

“With a total of 37 stalls, the bazaar can accommodate about 200 visitors at a time.

“Members of the public are all welcome to visit the bazaar,” he told reporters after officiating at the opening ceremony held at Ceria Street Walkway in SGH here today.

He added that health officers are also monitoring the situation at the bazaar to ensure cleanliness and will enforce the necessary guidelines for all stall operators.

“This includes taking a typhoid injection to prevent spread of infection,” he said.

Asked if wearing mask is required when going to the bazaar, Wan Samsulri said the existing Covid-29 guidelines should be adhered, and advised visitors to continue wearing face masks in crowded places. — DayakDaily
