KUCHING, Nov 28: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) will be hosting a talk titled “Green Hydrogen from Biomass” tomorrow (Nov 29).
According to a press release, it will take place at the Seminar Room, Integrated Biodiversity Research Building (IBRB), SBC and via Zoom at 3pm.
The talk will be delivered by Professor Dr Masaharu Komiyama, from Chemical Engineering Department and Centre for Biofuel and Biochemical Research, Universiti Teknologi Petronas. His research interests focus on catalysis and physical chemistry.
Komiyama will speak about green hydrogen produced through the carbon neutral route, the feedstocks used, and the possible technologies involved for green hydrogen production.
Details of each process will be described and compared, along with the possibility of utilising biomass as a hydrogen carrier.
Based on the current hydrogen value chain, the possible quantum that could be supplied from biomass for sustainable and renewable energy will be discussed and addressed during the talk.
