SAR for missing Pakan woman resumes tomorrow, belongings found

KUCHING, Nov 16: The search and rescue (SAR) parties of a missing 63-year-old woman in Pakan managed to find her belongings before calling it a day.

According Bintangor Fire station, in a statement, the belongings were found by one of the SAR parties on a two-kilometre trail road, which was believed to be traversed by the woman.

“Among the items found were the woman’s toothbrush, clothing, a flash light, some medicine, and also a bag. However, the victim is yet to be found,” it said.

The statement noted the SAR was halted at 4 pm, as it began to rain and getting dark, and would continue tomorrow.

On Nov 15 (Sunday), Chemeral Mering was reported as a missing person by her family members after she failed to return home, following a visit to the Pakan District Welfare Office.

A SAR operation was launched on the same day by Bintangor Fire Station, but was postponed after the search efforts to locate her were unsuccessful. — DayakDaily
