Close shave for Bintulu boy, 3, trapped inside vehicle in crash

KUCHING, Nov 16: A three-year-old boy was traumatised after being trapped inside a vehicle following a single vehicle accident at RPR Tanjung Kidurong in Bintulu, today.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre, in a statement said, following an emergency call received from the Malaysia Emergency Response Services 999 (MERS 999) at 7.31 pm, a team of eight firefighters was rushed to the location led by PBK II Winston Tan.

“Operation commander reported the victim’s mother was reversing the vehicle when the incident occurred, and the vehicle automatically locked itself after crashing into the wall of a residential house, which trapped the child on the back seat.


“Firefighters then proceeded to get the boy out from the vehicle using Bomba special tools and he was handed over to his family members,” it said.

According to the statement, the boy’s mother managed to escape before the vehicle automatically locked itself, and the unharmed and conscious victim was brought to the hospital by his father for further treatment. — DayakDaily
