Santubong MP distributes food aid to 76 families in Kampung Boyan under EMCO

KUCHING, May 28: Santubong MP Dato Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has distributed food aid to a total of 76 families from 60 households in Kampung Boyan here who are under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

The food aid was distributed today by members from the P193 Santubong Parliamentary service centre.

According to P193 Santubong Parliamentary service centre special officer Halimahtun Aliffah, the food aid, worth RM100 each, includes 10 kilogram of rice, eggs, vegetables, cooking oil, biscuits, chicken, coffee, tea and sugar.

“The supply is for two weeks, and will benefit 76 families,” she said when met by reporters outside of the EMCO area, during the distribution, today.

Members from Santubong Parliamentary service centre are seen arranging the food aid at the entrance of Kampung Boyan, before being distributed to the residents.

Kampung Boyan was put under EMCO for two week starting May 21 until June 3, 2021, following an outbreak of Covid-19 detected in the area.

On May 16, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) declared the Kampung Boyan cluster after 19 positive Covid-19 cases were detected.

Following that, on May 20, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a press statement announced that Kampung Boyan, was put under EMCO after a total of 34 individuals was found positive for the virus.

All positive cases have been referred to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and placed at the quarantine and low-risk patients treatment centre (PKRC) under Kuching district. — DayakDaily
