Samarahan Food and Cultural Festival (SFCF) returns this year from Nov 12 to 18

KUCHING, Sept 3: The Samarahan Food and Cultural Festival (SFCF) will be held once more this year from Nov 12 to 18 after a short hiatus due to the restrictions imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) administrative officer Lim Kiew Leng, who is representing Muara Tuang assemblyman Dato Idris Buang, said the festival will be held for one week in conjunction with MPKS’ anniversary celebration.

According to her, the festival was held previously in 2019 and was put on hold for the following years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“After two years under the Movement Control Order (MCO), this year we can hold a programme again, and therefore, let’s all make this food and cultural festival a happening one,” she said.

Lim said this during the Samarahan Food and Culture Festival 2022 Promotion Roadshow, held at Easement B, Aiman Street in Kota Samarahan, today.

Various programmes were held at the two-day roadshow which started yesterday (Sept 2), namely ‘Otai nang steady’ heat, ‘Bintang Gemilang SFCF’ heat, cooking competition, half aerobathon, ‘Kuih Asli’ making competition, cendol drinking competition and eating competition.

The SFCF 2.0 roadshow will also be held in Asajaya on Sept 24. — DayakDaily
