Urgent call in Samarahan for those linked to religious groups, school Covid-19 clusters to get screened immediately

KUCHING, April 6: The Samarahan Division Health Office is appealing to individuals who attended a gathering linked to or if they are close contacts with any positive Covid-19 cases to come forward to be assessed and tested.

According to a notice issued by the office, they are seeking participants at the Wawasan Ummah Gemilang Majlis Islam Sarawak (MIS) gathering held on March 10 at Kota Samarahan Civic Centre, those who have been in contact with the Good News Fellowship cluster, and the staff or students of the SMK Kota Samarahan cluster, and other individuals who have been in contact with Covid-19 patients.

These individuals are requested to come for immediate screening at the Kota Samarahan Civic Centre from 8.30-11am, and 1-3pm daily including weekends beginning April 6.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian who shared the notice on his Facebook page called for public understanding and cooperation.

“Sarawak needs your help and love. Please come forward to be tested and assessed. There will be no stigma and there should be no fear as this is definitely not your fault.

“You can save yourself, your family, fellow Sarawakians and stop Covid-19 in Sarawak,” he emphasised, adding that everyone has a role to play to curb the spread of Covid-19. — DayakDaily
