KUCHING, Feb 18: The Salvation Army’s new headquarters in Kota Samarahan is expected to be completed by year end.

Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman Dato Peter Minos gave assurance that MPKS will provide assistance to Salvation Army in any way that it possibly can.

“Caring and helping the unfortunate is always in the mind of MPKS as it is part of the council’s corporate social responsibility (CSR),” he said in a statement today.

According to Minos, during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, MPKS has distributed thousands of food baskets to those in need.

He said the effort was supported through cooperation from local supermarkets, voluntary groups and other organisations.

“The Salvation Army is one of the organisations that came forward to support the efforts,” he added. — DayakDaily
