KOTA KINABALU, Aug 17: The Election Commission (EC) has set September 26 as the polling date for the 16th Sabah state election.
EC deputy chairman Dr Azmi Sharom said the nomination date for the Sabah state election has been fixed on September 12.
“The date for early voting is on September 22.
“The duration for campaigning is 14 days,” he announced during a press conference after chairing a special meeting for the 16th Sabah state election polling proceedings here today.
When asked on the judicial review of the dissolution of the Sabah assembly filed by Tan Sri Musa Aman, Azmi said he did not receive any court order, adding that the polls will proceed.
For the Sabah 16th state election, a total of 73 seats will be up for contest. —DayakDaily
