KUCHING, June 23: Not even rain could dim the electrifying spirit of the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) 2025, which wrapped up last night (June 22) with a resounding celebration of culture, rhythm, and connection that lit up the Sarawak Cultural Village for three unforgettable days (June 20-22).
The final night (RWMF Day 3) crescendoed with a vibrant, multicoloured closing performance featuring all participating local and international artistes — including Manhu (China), Tal Fry (India), Buluh Berkocak (Sarawak), La Chiva Gantiva (Colombia & Belgium), N’Famady Kouyate (Guinea & UK), and headliner At Adau (Sarawak).

Festivalgoers from different countries danced together, even as strangers, roaring for more after each performance and continuing to move to the rhythm late into the night — unbothered by the sudden evening drizzle.
More than just a music showcase, RWMF 2025 embraced its 28th edition theme ‘Connections: One Earth, One Love’, offering interactive workshops that brought artists and fans together, strengthening cultural ties and sparking meaningful conversations.
Beyond the music, festivalgoers enjoyed a colourful bazaar of local entrepreneurship — complete with Sarawakian cuisine, artisan crafts, traditional tattoos, and therapeutic massages, making the event a full-sensory experience rooted in Borneo’s cultural richness.
As the curtains closed, the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) announced on the LED screen that the next edition of RWMF will take place from June 26 to 28, 2026 — keeping the rhythm of the rainforest alive and growing stronger.
RWMF has proven once again that it is not just a music festival, but a powerful platform that unites hearts across borders, beats, and beliefs. — DayakDaily
