KUCHING, Aug 20: The Royal Institution Of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) golf team was crowned team champion in the Inter-Professional Golf 2023 tournament at Sarawak Golf Club here today.
They secured their victory with a total nett score of 419 shots based on the best nett results of the six players from each team played at the tournament.
In second place was the Institute of Engineering Malaysia (IEM) with a nett score of 450 shots, and third place went to Malaysia Medical Association with a nett score of 454 shots.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian presented the prizes to the respective winners.
During his speech, Dr Sim reminded fellow professionals to work together and build a much stronger foundation for a better Sarawak.
He said Sarawak’s revenue is the largest compared to other states in Malaysia, and the State needs the talent and the professionals to stay.
“Sarawak will continue to have better revenue in years to come and money is not an issue as we have it, and the services of all the professionals are critical to achieve Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS2023) in order (to become) a developed State,” he said. — DayakDaily
