KUCHING, Nov 20: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Women’s chief Dato Sri Doris Brodie says Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will be the legal entity for Sarawak to forge a unified effort in fighting for the state’s rights.

As a local coalition, she believed that GPS’ focus now is “to right the wrongs”.

“The approval of GPS will further strengthen its component parties in their striving to move forward to fight for Sarawak’s right.”

“Our brand (GPS) is a legal entity now. There are no more loose ends, we are in this together and anything Sarawak is our agenda. YAB CM (Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) who is also GPS president will lead us towards a better Sarawak.

“Our main focus now is to right the wrongs from the time Sarawak was derailed from the initial spirit of why Malaysia was formed,” said Doris who is also a political secretary to the chief minister.

She said it was also GPS’ aim to get back what belongs to Sarawak to enable the GPS government to develop and prosper Sarawak better and make it a level playing field for all Sarawakians.

“I call to all Sarawakians to share our aspirations and unite to put Sarawak’s interests first.”

“Sarawakians are peace-loving people and we seek fairness and equality to its content. I am certain that GPS is the best platform for us to make it happen both within and out there,” said Doris.

According to GPS protem secretary-general Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, GPS’ registration has received approval from the Home Ministry.

He said he received the good news that GPS’ application was approved when he posed the question to Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin during the latter’s winding-up speech at about 4pm yesterday. — DayakDaily
