KUCHING, Aug 4: Rock legend Datuk Suhaimi Abdul Rahman or better known as Amy Search has reunited with Sarawak fans at the National-level International Museum Day 2023 Cultural Night held at Borneo Cultures Museum (BCM) compound here earlier tonight.
The 65-year-old rocker performed four songs to entertain over 2,000 members of the public. The songs were Rozana, Kerja Gila, Isabella, and Pawana.
Mid-concert, Amy was surprised by his fans who sung ‘Happy birthday’ to him in light of his recent birthday which fell on July 28.
Prior to him taking the main stage, the crowd were hyped by local performers namely Hijrah Yahya, Firdaus Materang, Muhammad Shahrezza “Shahrezza” Abu Samah and Rickie Andrewson.
Among the guest-of-honors present were Malaysian Museum Department director-general Datuk Kamarul Baharin A. Kasim and Sarawak Museum Department director Nancy Jolhi.
With the theme ‘Museums, Sustainability and Wellbeing’, the International Museum Day celebration held from July 31 to Aug 5 is co-organised by Malaysian Museum Department (JMM) and Sarawak Museum Department (JMS).
The event featured 34 exhibition booths participated by 800 delegates from museums throughout the country including one museum from Kalimantan, Indonesia and several other agencies.
Among other activities include Sarawak Heritage Kitchen sales, cultural performances, workshops, seminars, forums and so on. — DayakDaily
