KUCHING, Aug 29: Several roads in Sarikei will be closed for the Unity Walk programme and National Day Celebration Assembly in conjunction with the Sarawak-level National Day 2025 celebration on Aug 31.
According to a notice issued by the Sarikei District Council that was posted by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), from 5am to 8.30am, Lorong Nenas 1 will be closed for the Unity Walk programme.
Then, from 8.30am to 12.30pm, Jalan Nyelong, Jalan Market, and Jalan Getah will be closed for the National Day Celebration Assembly.
“The council seeks the cooperation of the public to plan their journeys earlier and choose alternative routes to help reduce traffic congestion,” said the notice.
