KUCHING, July 17: Several major roads in Miri city centre will be temporarily closed this July 22 for the Unity Walk parade in conjunction with Sarawak Day 2025.
According to a notice issued by Miri district police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah, the road closures will take place between 7am and 9am, starting from Miri Indoor Stadium and continuing along the following route: Jalan Sukan, Jalan Kipas, Jalan Sylvia, Jalan Parry, Jalan North Yu Seng, Jalan Merpati, and Jalan Sukan (return loop).
“Temporary and staggered road closures will be carried out along the parade route to ensure the smooth running of the event,” he said.
He urged the public to cooperate with police instructions and make travel arrangements ahead of time.
“Road users are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and adhere to all directions given by the police during the event.”
