MIRI, Sept 25: Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Miri District has announced upcoming road closures in conjunction with the commencement of ‘Madani Rakyat Programme (PMR) Sarawakku Sayang’ from Sept 27 to 29 at Boulevard Mall Compound in Miri.
Miri District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, in a statement, said to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic, road closures will be enforced along the following routes throughout the programme:
1. Boulevard Utama Road;
2. Vinca Road; and
3. Access road to Boulevard 2D Road
Visitors attending the event are advised to park their vehicles at the designated public parking areas:
1. Miri Stadium parking space; and
2. The public parking space near Boulevard Mall.
“Those who park their vehicles at Miri Stadium will be provided with a bus that will transport them to the programme venue.
“The public are also advised to not park their vehicles at the road side to prevent disrupting the traffic flow and always abide by the instructions of police officers on duty,” he said.
Alexson also said that in conjunction with the programme, the Miri District Police is offering compound discounts of up to 50 per cent.
“A total of 14 check-and-payment counters will be opened at the programme,” he added.
