MIRI, Aug 7: Sarawak Water has issued an extended road closure notice to carry out repair works on the 18-inch AC main pipe near GK Supermarket at Pujut 3, Jalan Pujut-Lutong, here.
The notice, posted on its Facebook page, did not provide an estimated time for completion.
“Full and partial road closures will be implemented in the affected area. Please plan your journey and follow the designated alternative routes.
“Heavy vehicles and vehicles carrying long loads are advised not to use the alternative routes due to narrow roads,” it said.
In a separate post, the utility provider said that its technical team had identified the damaged section of the pipe and is carrying out repair work.
“The damaged pipe will be removed and replaced with a new one, and repair works will follow until water supply has returned to normal,” it said.
Earlier, it was reported that the road closure was supposed to end at 5pm today. — DayakDaily
