KUCHING, July 8: A section of Lorong Desa Wira 5 in Taman Desa Wira here will be fully closed to traffic from July 14 to Aug 9, 2025 to facilitate the construction of a reinforced concrete (RC) box culvert.
According to a public notice issued by the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) and shared by Sarawak Deputy Premier and Batu Kawah assemblyman Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian via Facebook, the construction involves a proposed culvert measuring 1.5 metres (width) by 2.0 metres (height).
The temporary road closure is necessary to ensure safety and allow for smooth execution of the works.
The affected area is clearly marked with red lines on the accompanying map, while alternative routes accessible to residents are indicated with yellow directional arrows.
Residents and motorists are advised to comply with all posted signs and follow the designated detour routes to avoid inconvenience.
The project team has apologised for the temporary disruption and urged the public for patience during this period.
