Road accident near Sangan junction leaves 2 seriously injured

KUCHING, March 30: Two individuals suffered heavy injuries in a two-vehicle road accident near Sangan junction along the Tatau-Sibu road yesterday (March 29).

According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation center, they received a call regarding the incident at 3.36pm and deployed Bomba Tatau.

The operation commander arrived at the location and reported that the incident involved two four-wheel-drive vehicles.


“One of the victims, who was pinned inside the first vehicle, suffered serious injuries, while two other victims in the second vehicle managed to get out,” the report stated.

“One of them was badly injured, while the other suffered minor injuries,” it added.

Firefighters used rescue tools to extricate the pinned victim by prying open the vehicle door.

All three victims were then handed over to medical personnel from Tatau Clinic for further treatment.

The operation concluded at 4.03pm after firefighters ensured that the situation was safe and under control. — DayakDaily
