KUCHING, Aug 23: Sarawakian students who are currently studying full time at higher learning institutions registered under the Ministry of Education are eligible to apply for a travel subsidy amounting up to RM600 per year under Inisiatif Graduan Pulang Sarawak (I-GPS).
Students may make two applications for RM300 per year (totalling RM600 per year).
Students may register for the subsidy via https://yayasansarawak.org.my or the Yayasan Sarawak Student app.
An infographic shared by Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian on his Facebook page stated that the I-GPS subsidy is to cover the expenses of students flying from Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Labuan back to Sarawak.
There is no restriction on travel date and students are advised to claim it within 60 days after the travel date.
Those with queries may visit the Batu Kawah Service Centre from Monday to Friday betweem 8.30am to 12pm, and 1.30pm to 4.30pm; and on Saturday from 9am to 11am. They may also contact the centre by calling 082-528932/ 010-222-3078. — DayakDaily
