RM41mil Bintangor Waterfront upgrade to include ‘Limau Bintangor’ structure, parking facilities, concrete walkway

BINTANGOR, Jan 19: The Bintangor Waterfront is slated for an upgrade with an allocation of RM41 million approved by the Sarawak government.

Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing said the scope of the project includes the construction of an extended concrete walkway, a park, roads, and a ‘Limau Bintangor’ (Bintangor lime) structure which is a symbol of the town.

In addition, the development will feature food kiosks, fencing, pedestrian shelters, gazebos, a concrete jetty, a bus terminal with parking facilities, landscaping, a Sarawak Rivers Board office, a mini police station, and a one-stop centre (OTC).

He said this while speaking at the 2025 Chinese New Year Celebration Dinner at a restaurant on Jan 17, as reported by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS).

Ding said there are several projects under the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA) in Bintangor which aim not only to transform the local landscape but also to enhance the quality of life for residents in the area.

Among the projects are the upgrading of Bintangor Recreation Park (RM4 million), and a two-storey multipurpose hall (RM18 million).

Other initiatives include constructing an alternative route from Jalan Kilang to Jalan Janting (RM8 million), a main pipeline from Jalan Kelupu to the Tulai Booster Station (RM10 million), and upgrading Bintangor town’s reticulation system (RM25 million). — DayakDaily
