KUCHING, Jan 25: The RM20 million Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) Precast Concrete Facilities—the largest in Sarawak—is believed to be a game changer for the development of KUTS Red Line project and the State’s construction industry.
Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government Sarawak, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, said the precast concrete facility, which is fully owned by Sarawakians, will accelerate development projects, reduce costs, and improve quality, particularly in the construction of future bridges and elevated roads in Sarawak.
“With advanced technology, high-quality production capabilities, and environmentally friendly practices, this facility will not only support Sarawak’s growing infrastructure needs but also set new standards in the precast concrete industry,” he said.
He said this at the KUTS Precast Concrete Facilities launching ceremony and Chinese New Year celebration here today, reported TVS.
Meanwhile, he believes that local contractors in Sarawak are capable of adapting new construction technologies to compete with industry players at the international level.
The new precast concrete plant of Urban Empire Builders (UEB) Sdn Bhd is equipped with a project management office, management staff quarters, workers’ quarters, canteen, landscaped gardens, and a recreation hall.
