SPAOH, July 19: The construction of a new three-storey building for Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Chung Hua Spaoh, with a total cost of RM2.75 million, is expected to commence soon.

In a TVS news report, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the new building will feature classrooms and an administrative block, aimed at providing a more comfortable and conducive teaching and learning environment for both teachers and students.

“The school is planning to add another new block, and today I am here to present an additional allocation of RM750,000, on top of the RM2 million previously approved.

“I hope this project can be implemented without delay, so teachers and students here will soon benefit from improved and more comfortable facilities,” he said during a ceremony to present Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant for associations and clubs in Bukit Saban area on Friday (July 18).

Uggah, who is also the Bukit Saban assemblyman, said the allocation for Chinese-medium schools aligned with the Sarawak government’s commitment under the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, led by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) administration.

He further revealed that the Sarawak government has channelled RM20 million through the Unit for Other Religions Affairs (Unifor) to support missionary schools across the State.

Earlier, Uggah also handed over MRP grant cheques totalling RM271,000 to 21 associations and clubs in the Bukit Saban area. — DayakDaily
