KUCHING, March 3: The San Sam Kuet Bong Temple at 7th Mile is set for an upgrade, with RM100,000 allocated under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2024 by Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap.
Yap, along with officers from Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), visited the temple today to discuss the scope of the upgrade with the management committee and devotees.
In a statement afterward, he said the project aims to enhance the temple’s facilities, benefiting the local community.
He also reminded the management committee and devotees present to remain united as Sarawakians in rejecting the racial and religious rhetoric of Malaya-based political parties, which he said conflict with the inclusive and multicultural values of the Sarawak GPS government.
“These rhetorics not only alienate us but also threaten the unity and diversity that Sarawakians have for so long enjoyed.
“Through unity of all Sarawakians, regardless of race or religion, our Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government can focus on further improving temples and churches as well as the living standards of all anak Sarawak,” he stated.
He reaffirmed his focus on development and improving community infrastructure in Kota Sentosa, stating that Sarawak must continue to build on its diversity as a strength for future progress. – DayakDaily
