RM10,000 grant for Sarawak Scout Council, CHMS No 1 scout group for development programmes

KUCHING, Oct 23: The Sarawak Scout Council and Chung Hua Middle School No 1 scout group were both awarded grants of RM10,000 each to support their respective development programmes.

Political secretary to the Premier of Sarawak Kho Teck Wan represented Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian to present the grant in a simple ceremony held at the Sarawak Scout Headquarters at Jalan Batu Lintang here today.

Expressing gratitude for the contribution, the Council’s executive committee chairman Peter Chai highlighted the crucial necessity of additional funds to materialise numerous ongoing projects.

With an increasing number of students joining the scout movement, the demand for more facilities such as meeting halls and activities areas is imperative to cater to their needs, he remarked in a statement today.

The presentation of the grants was attended by Chief Scout Commissioner of Sarawak Captain Zainuddin Hamdan and Sarawak Scout Council vice president Kho Ik Teck, who were present to witness the occasion. — DayakDaily
