RHB Islamic Bank Satok confirms employee had close contact with Covid-19 patient

KUCHING, March 23: An employee of RHB Islamic Bank Jalan Satok had close contact with a novel coronavirus (Covid-19) patient who recently passed away.

As a result, RHB Islamic Bank Jalan Satok will be closed from today until March 31 as a precautionary measure to protect the health of its customers and its staff.


RHB Banking Group in a press statement disclosed: “One of our employees in RHB Islamic Bank – Cawangan Jalan Satok, Kuching is an immediate family (member) of the mother and daughter who had succumbed to Covid-19 as was reported by Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM).

“The employee has been sent for screening and is currently under home-quarantine since March 18.

“We are taking all necessary precautionary measures to protect the health and safety of our customers, employees and our community.

“As a preventive measure, RHB Islamic Bank – Cawangan Jalan Satok, Kuching will be closed from March 23 until March 31 to facilitate cleaning and sanitisation activities, which will be carried out in accordance with KKM guidelines.

“As an added precaution, all RHB employees from the Jalan Satok branch have also been placed under 14 days’ home quarantine.

“We are assisting relevant authorities with contact tracing efforts,” RHB Banking Group’s managing director Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli was quoted as revealing.

He added, “We would like to assure our customers that there is no disruption to our banking services arising out of this closure.

“Customers of RHB Islamic Bank – Cawangan Jalan Satok can go to the nearest RHB Bank Branch to conduct their banking transactions throughout the movement control order (MCO) period.

“We encourage all customers to use our internet and mobile banking services as well as self-service terminals to perform banking transactions, which include automated teller machine (ATM), cash and cheque deposit machines,” Khairussaleh added. — DayakDaily
