Dato Peter Minos

KUCHING, March 22: Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman Datuk Peter Minos is unhappy about the attitude displayed by a few residents in Kota Samarahan who are not serious in obeying the movement control order (MCO).

He believed they should not treat the MCO as just a period to ‘makan angin’ (sightsee) by driving their cars to the city centre.

Peter observed that despite repeated advice and warnings to stay at home by the state and federal governments, several residents are still defiant by going out of their houses to enjoy themselves.

“Despite repeated advice and warnings by the police and the authorities, there are still a few in Samarahan who are driving to Kuching to ‘makan angin’.

“MPKS is unhappy with these few (people) who have shown open defiance and do not respect the laws.

“Their actions can be considered as reckless and selfish,” he emphasised in a statement.

Minos opined that their action can put the lives of others in society at risk if they are infected with the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

In the meantime, he stressed that MPKS is fully behind the police in enforcing the law set by the government.

He believed the government has made the right move to implement MCO and it is for the good of Sarawakians.

Minos also pointed out that the fight against Covid-19 must be relentless until the situation improves. — DayakDaily
