Rh Peter Kilas in Bintangor receives RM800,000 in MRP and KPLB grants to upgrade road

KUCHING, Sept 5: Rh Peter Kilas in Bintangor has received a total of RM800,000 in grants to upgrade its road.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) on Sept 3, the first grant worth RM400,000 under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) was announced by Semop assemblyman Datuk Abdullah Saidol who is also Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs and Ukas), while the second RM400,000 grant from Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB) was announced by Tanjung Manis MP Yusuf Abdul Wahab.

“I was informed that the grant announced by the Tanjung Manis MP only covered the upgrading works for the road in front of the longhouse, and for the information of everyone, there is already an approval of another RM400,000 for upgrading the main road to the entrance of the longhouse,” he said.


Abdullah said this when attending the Ukas ‘Aram Begempuru’ programme together with N42 Semop constituency Service Centre and Saberkas Meradong branch held at Rh Peter Kilas in Selidap, Bintangor on Saturday (Aug 3).

Apart from that, Abdullah announced another Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM74,300 to upgrade the longhouse jetty.

During the programme, he also announced MRP funds of RM6,000 for Rh Peter Kilas Development and Security Committee (JKKK), RM5,000 for Meradong and Julau District Council Recreation Club, RM5,000 for Saberkas Meradong, RM3,000 for Meradong Brotherhood Club, RM1,000 for Seberang Youth Club Bintangor, and RM5,000 for Meradong Tuai-Tuai Rumah Association. — DayakDaily
