KUCHING, July 1: Malaysian citizens no longer need to fill in and complete the Traveller’s Pass feature in their MySejahtera app effective July 4 when returning to the country.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin in a statement today said following the country’s satisfactory health system level, the relaxation would be implemented to expedite citizens’ return to Malaysia.

ā€œThe relaxation will be done in stages to give flexibility to other groups such as social pass holders, student passes holders and permanent resident pass holders in the future which will be announced later.

ā€œFor starters, this repeal only applies to Malaysia citizens,ā€ he said.

Khairi clarify that the features of the Traveller’s Pass are still being displayed in the MySejahtera app and it must be completed by non-Malaysian travellers before entering the country.

In addition to monitoring Covid-19 cases among foreign travellers, he added, these features need to be completed by them so that the Ministry of Health Malaysia is able to closely monitor other infectious diseases from abroad such as monkeypox. ā€” DayakDaily
