Rented two-storey house in Taman Piasau Miri partially destroyed in fire

KUCHING, Jan 11: A rented two-storey house in Taman Piasau Miri was partially destroyed in a fire today.

According to a report from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received a call from Malaysian Emergency Rescue Services (EMRS) 999 regarding the incident at 10.11am and deployed a team from Bomba Miri station to the location.

The operations commander reported that upon arrival, they observed the fire spreading in the second-storey of the house.

Firefighters are seen dousing the inside of the house to ensure no remaining sources of reignition.

Firefighters then conducted a size-up followed by an extinguishing operation, before successfully putting out the blaze.

The house was 70 per cent destroyed and no casualties were reported during the incident. — DayakDaily
