KUCHING, Dec 23: Members of the public are encouraged to help the needy and poor especially during the current challenging economic situation.
The special assistant to Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak chairman, Julian Tan said generous donors can help to alleviate the hardship of the poor by donating some gifts to them especially during the festive season.
Today, Democratic Action Party Socialist Youth (DAPSY) Kuching together with a few volunteers distributed some gifts to those in need in conjunction with the upcoming Christmas festival.
Tan said the gifts were from the office of Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii while the Christmas in a box gifts were from the kind contributions from the public and church.
“We were touched by their thoughtfulness and would like to take this opportunity to encourage members of the public to continue to help those around them that are in need especially during this trying time.
“We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
“Continue to shower our love to the people around us, and only together, we can build a healthy and vibrant community,” he said. —DayakDaily
