LAWAS, Sept 12: Family members of Mohd Amirul Bakar, who was reported missing while fishing with two other friends at sea near Pulau Sari, said the third body found by the Marine police yesterday was not him.

In a statement by Lawas police chief,Ā through the stateĀ Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, Mohd Amirulā€™s family members did three body identification at the hospital morgue this morning.

They said the body is not Mohd Amirul and this has promptedĀ the search and rescue (SAR) operations to resume at 1.40pm.

On Monday, Faruk Arina Ahmad Sabri, 29, Yeu Chee Tiong, 30, and Amirul, 26, had embarked on a fishing trip to Pulau Sari.

Another friend, who owns the boat, lodged a missing person report with the police on the same day after failing to reach the victimā€™s mobile phoneĀ from 4pmĀ onwards.

Yeuā€™s bodyĀ was found on TuesdayĀ at 8.35am, trapped in between rocks at the vicinity of Sungai Labik-Labik,Ā while Farukā€™s body was found floating near Pulau Sari Besar at 11.05pm, about 450m away from where Yew was found.

The latest development has also raised another question on theĀ identity of the body found last night, floating about 10 nautical miles from Pulau Sari. ā€” DayakDaily
